Where Possibility Becomes Practical
SBR TECH turns early-stage concepts into functional, battle-tested systems through disciplined engineering and rapid prototyping.
Backed by 50 years of innovation, 350+ patents, and over 60 industry firsts, we don’t just build “proof of concepts” that look good on a desk. We build working prototypes that are ready to perform in the field, under pressure, and over time.
Development Without the Detours
SBR TECH approaches R&D with manufacturing integrity from day one.
Engineering decisions reflect how systems will be built, integrated, and produced at scale, so what gets developed can move forward without being redesigned.
By aligning prototypes with our in-house SMT lines, injection molding, and assembly cells, we ensure that what we develop can actually perform without the nightmare of constant rework
We deliver:
- Electrical and system-level design support
- Printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout
- Hardware and software development, including embedded systems, functional safety, and cybersecurity
- Test equipment design and build for verification and performance checks
- Functional prototypes for hands-on evaluation
- Advanced modeling, including 2D/3D CAD, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Iteration and refinement based on test results
Testing the Theory. Proving the Build.
We don’t wait for the end of the cycle to see if a system holds up. Engineering, testing, and manufacturing work collaboratively to prove that your system is ready for the real world before the first production run starts.
This approach shortens development timelines, improves consistency, and reduces risk as programs scale.
We provide:
- Environmental and vibration testing to confirm durability
- EMI/RFI design and testing considerations
- Functional and performance testing under operating conditions
- Advanced metrology, calibration, and measurement capabilities.
- In-house development of test processes and equipment
The R&D and Application Center
The path to innovation is centralized at our 200-acre complex in Reed City, Michigan.
Having our R&D and Application Center and production plant in one location provides direct, collaborative access to our engineering and manufacturing teams, eliminating the communication gaps common with fragmented suppliers.
The facility includes integrated engineering labs, an on-site test track for system validation, and a 1,373-meter private runway to support seamless logistics and partner collaboration.
Fully Integrated
Core development, application engineering, and high-volume manufacturing all under one roof.
Certified Excellence
Rigorous quality systems including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, with a target for CMMC Level 2 by August 2026.
Controlled Environment
A 150,000 ft² facility utilizing real-time monitoring for temperature, humidity, and ESD protection to ensure component integrity.
Defense, Autonomy, and Mobility Innovation Campus
SBR TECH is expanding its vision for the Reed City campus, creating an even stronger environment for defense, autonomy, UAS, and advanced mobility development.
The goal is practical: Give strategic partners a place where testing, prototyping, integration, and production can connect without unnecessary separation between phases.
For defense contractors, UAS and drone developers, autonomy teams, mobility innovators, and government partners, the campus proves room for moving promising technologies closer to field-ready deployment.
Its location adds another advantage. Positioned about 80 miles from Camp Grayling and Michigan’s National All-Domain Warfighting Center, SBR TECH sits near a growing defense and autonomy ecosystem with increasing relevance for UAS and counter-UAS development.
SBR TECH is actively seeking strategic partners to help shape and expand this campus vision.
- Defense and government technology development
- UAS, drone, and counter-drone system support
- Autonomy and advanced mobility integration
- Prototype development and applied testing
- Transition from concept to production-ready systems
